Contemplating Comedy - a new book by Jonathan Levitt

A member of our community has written a book!

Jonathan Levitt is the author of Contemplating Comedy, which is now available online in paperback from all the usual retailers.

Mathematics graduate Jonathan is a former professional chess player, who was diagnosed with scleroderma around the age of 40. He first came up with the idea of writing the book around seven years ago, however it was the onset of COVID-19 that led him to complete this project.

Before the pandemic hit, Jonathan had a successful second career that was based around betting on live cricket, which has been paused since the country first went into lockdown and all games were called off. This was when the urge to write returned, and Jonathan was able to focus on the book. After just a few months, Contemplating Comedy was ready.

The book is packed with humour combined with the author’s own insights, experiences and original ideas. These are accompanied by a collection of cartoon illustrations, by artist Russell Herneman.
